DOCUMENTS
Passport with at least six months validity. Entry Visa, if needed, obtainable on arrival under payment of US$ 20 fee.

CURRENCY
Local currency is the Zambian Kwacha. There are no restrictions regarding the import of foreign currency. US$ and British Pound are widely accepted. Visa and Mastercard are accepted in all banks and most restaurants and hotels.

LANGUAGE
The official language is English. There are more than 70 tribes speaking their dialects.

CLIMATE
The altitude of Zambia ranging from 500 to 1600 metres, provides a moderate climate. The year can be roughly divided into 3 periods: May to August when it is fairly cool and dry; September to November when it is hot and dry with temperatures reaching 35 to 40 degrees centigrades; end of December to half March when the heavy rains make most roads impracticable resulting in many National Parks being closed. The best period to visit Zambia goes from April to November.

HEALTH RECOMMENDED PRECAUTIONS
No specific vaccination required. Malaria prophylaxis is though recommended expecially in the period immediately following the rainy season

CLOTHING
We suggest you should take comfortable, loose-fitting cotton clothing in natural colours, shorts and trousers, a hat, cotton T-shirts, a jumper for the evening and swimming suits for the pool. For the safari comfortable shoes or lightweight walking boots. Do not forget a good pair of sunglasses, protective sun cream and insect repellant. Useful a binoculars and a good camera with lots of films.

HOW TO GET THERE
By air from Europe to Lusaka the main routes are British Airways from London, KLM from Amsterdam, South African Airways from Zurich and Frankfurt. From the USA through Europe or Johannesburg. Most African capitals have connections with Lusaka airport. Going by road you'll find that most borders are open from 06.00 to 18.00 from the southern region Chirundu, Kariba, Livingstone and Kazungula are the main borders.
